Reflection Tools
Padlet is a website that can be used to generate ideas, or discussions. It allows an entire group or class to respond at once to a prompt. After every one had answered/responded to the prompt there could be a discussion or sharing time. The site is just like a blank piece of paper that the teacher can put a question, video, or link on and then the class can view and respond. The responses can be seen by the whole group in real time and does include the writers names.
Uses: This tool could be used to brainstorm, create a group list, have a discussion, or collect feedback. Anytime a short written response is desired this site could be used.
Reflection: I like this tool and it was easy to learn to use. I think this tool will engage students and it is a great way to get feedback quickly or involve an entire group in brainstorming.

Linoit is a site that allows for a group to respond to a questions or prompt. The site is free and easy to use. The site looks like a pad with sticky notes. Each person that responds can select a sticky note in the color of their choice. There are symbols and icons that can be added to the notes. In the image below we used four different symbols to indicate what kind of response we were going to make. All the participants can see each others responses but the responses are anonymous.
Uses: This could be used to reflect on a lesson, to summarize a text, to respond with a short answer to any written material, or even to as a way for students to voice how they feel about what they have learned. The site could also be used to brainstorm ideas. Anytime you want an answer that could include what was learned or what they already knew could be answered using this site.
Reflection: I like the design of this tool and that there are so many ways to use this site. I think that this will be one of my favorite tools and that it will be a great way to engage my students. I think that the use of symbols, and colors will give students a chance to personalize the message and express themselves which will hopefully engage even the students who don't like to write. I enjoyed using this tool and was excited to see what my classmates responded. The fact that we could all respond at the same time allowed for a faced paced reflection time.
