Presentation Tools
Prezi: is a non linear power point presentation. Starts with the big picture and zooms in and around during the presentation. This site is collaborative and allows multiple students to work at a time and even from different places. With PowerPoint it can only be created from a single computer with one person doing the work and others just observing. Prezi is free and has lots of templates to choose from but does require some time to get used to and to learn how to use.
Use: This is a great site for collaborative presentation creation.
Reflection: I have created a presentation with prezi and seen several prezi presentations. The presentations are very engaging and professional looking but it did take me longer to create the presentation using prezi than any other tool I have used.

PowToon: Can make cool animated videos slide shows on short ten second slides. This site can also be used to create animated presentations. It has student appeal and could be used in younger grades. It is very easy to use and does not take long to master. The tool allows for any text but is limited by animated characters and objects. With a create mind and a little time many different and engaging videos or presentations could be created.
Use: This tool could be used to present a book report. This is a great alternative to having to get up and speak for students who are shy or overwhelmed by public speaking.
Reflection: I like this tool and would like to spend more time with it. I have only seen this tool demonstrated and have not gotten to use it myself. I think that this tool will really engage students and be a great way for them to show what they know in create and personal way.

Animoto: Without an education account you can only make thirty second videos and have to use limited text. This can be a good thing the students will have to really summarize what they need to say and will have to learn how to communicate in a powerful way with just a few words. Commercials are thirty seconds long and can sell a lot. Can add music, pick a theme, and the site does most of the work. Add pics, text, or video, and it will create a polished video. The site provides music or allows you to upload music (careful of copy right with uploaded music). Great for students who struggle with being creative, or artsy.
Use: This is another great tool for quickly creating videos. Students could use this site to create videos. The fact that the site limits the students on how many words and to just thirty seconds means that the students have to really know what they are presenting and what information is most important. I think that this would be a great tool for book reports with the limits forcing the students to really analyze the texts.
Reflection: This site is quick to learn, free, and very engaging. I would love to use this in my classroom. I think that the site is better for older students and would be great for middle school.

Haiku Deck: Is like PowerPoint but online. It is easy to learn to use. It creates simple presentation. It does limit the amount of text that can be used. Students that are required to give presentations with this tool will have to know their stuff in order to create an effective presentation with the limited text. The tool will aid the students presentation creating a nice visual aid but the students will have to be able to talk about their topic. This tool creates a challenge for students and with the limited text the student cannot simply create a PowerPoint and read it off when presenting.
Use: This tool is a great way for students to include a visual aid when giving a presentation. The tool is designed in a way that forces the students to use powerful pictures and limited text to support what they are saying. I think this is a great tool for middle school students and can help them create professional presentation.
Reflection: This would not be my first choice when creating a presentation or when assigning student to create a presentation but it is a unique and easy to use tool. I think that in certain situations and with some students this could be a great tool.
